CoachUp is a discovery marketplace — it helps new students find you. CoachCore is where you run your business once they do. Use CoachUp to get found. Use CoachCore for all repeat bookings so you keep what you earn.
CoachUp takes 43% of your rate on the first session with every new client. On a $80 lesson, you take home $45.60. The student also pays a $24.99 placement fee on top of your rate — so they're paying $104.99 for a lesson you're getting $45.60 for.
The commission scales down as you coach the same student more — 28% on session 2, 18% on session 3, down to 6% at session 5 and beyond. But by session 5 you've already lost significant revenue on the relationship CoachUp helped you start.
A coach with 10 active students doing one session per week at $80 loses roughly $1,400/month to CoachUp commissions in the early sessions alone — far more than CoachCore's $59/month flat fee.
CoachUp's marketplace has real value for discovery — it puts you in front of athletes looking for coaching in your area. CoachCore doesn't replace that.
What CoachCore replaces is processing repeat bookings through a platform that takes 6–43% of every session. Once a student finds you on CoachUp and you've built a relationship, move their ongoing bookings to your CoachCore page. You own the relationship, set your own cancellation policies, and keep 100% of what you charge.
CoachUp is for acquisition. CoachCore is for retention and revenue.
