Golf swing analysis software

Golf swing analysis software for instructors

Golf swing analysis software lets an instructor review a student's swing video, stop on the positions that matter, draw on the frame, compare it with another swing, and send back an annotated explanation. In CoachCore the instructor makes every mark and every call.

Start free trial

CoachCore does not detect or measure a motion for you. You choose the frames, place the marks, and make the call. The editor makes what you see easier to show.

Why swing video needs more than slow motion

A swing lasts about two seconds. Your lesson note should not.

1

The fault is in one position

A student who sends a clip of a whole swing does not know whether you mean the takeaway, the top, or the move into the downswing. You have to stop on the frame and point at it.

2

Describing a plane in text does not land

Telling a student their shaft is steep at the top means little until they see a line drawn along it on their own swing.

3

Feedback gets lost between lessons

A text message is read once. A marked-up swing with your voice on it is something a student can replay on the range.

What it should include

What instructors look at in a golf swing video.

Setup and posture

Freeze the address position and draw lines for spine angle, stance width, and where the ball sits relative to the feet. Show the student their own setup instead of describing it.

Swing positions

Step to address, takeaway, the top, transition, impact, and finish, and freeze each one. Walking a student through the positions in order makes a fast move easy to follow.

Tempo and rhythm

Slow the swing down and talk through the pace from takeaway to transition while it plays. You describe the rhythm you see. CoachCore does not time the swing for you.

Face-on and down-the-line views

Review each camera angle on its own, and use a line along the shaft or club path to show what that view reveals.

Side-by-side comparison

Put a student's swing next to an earlier one or a reference swing, trim each clip to start at address, and step through both.

Annotated instructor feedback

Draw, zoom, freeze, and record your voice, then send a single video the student can rewatch before the next lesson.

A lesson example

What a golf swing review looks like in the editor.

A student sends a down-the-line clip of a driver swing and says they keep hitting it right. You open it and step to address. You draw a line along the spine and another along the shaft, then freeze the top of the backswing and draw the same shaft line again so the student can see how the club moved.

You slow the downswing, freeze a frame just before impact, and zoom in on the hands. As the clip plays you explain what you see, and you send the video back as one link. The student watches it on their phone at the range and can replay it as often as they need.

Between lessons

Review swings when the student cannot be at the lesson.

Golf students practice far more often than they see their instructor. Swing video lets a student send what they are working on, and lets you answer on your schedule instead of waiting for the next booking.

Because the review sits inside CoachCore, you can attach it to the lesson it relates to and message it to the student without moving to another app.

How it works

A golf swing review, from clip to feedback.

The steps are the same in every sport. These show how they look on a golf swing clip.

  1. 1

    Get the swing

A student sends a face-on or down-the-line clip, or you load footage from the lesson.

  2. 2

    Find the positions

Step frame by frame to address, the top, and impact, and freeze the ones you want to discuss.

  3. 3

    Draw what you see

Add lines for spine and shaft, an angle, or a circle on the hands. You place each mark.

  4. 4

    Talk through the swing

Slow the clip down and record your voice over the positions.

  5. 5

    Send it to the student

Share a link or message the video, and keep it with the student's lesson history.

Editor tools

The editor tools golf instructors use most.

Frame-by-frame stepping

Move one frame at a time to land exactly on the top of the backswing or impact.

Lines and angles

Draw a spine line, a shaft line, or an angle at the elbow to show a position.

Freeze

Hold a key position on screen while you explain it, then resume the swing.

Slow motion and zoom

Slow the downswing and zoom in on the hands or the clubface area.

Side-by-side mode

Compare a swing with an earlier one, trimming each clip to the same starting point.

Voice-over

Record your explanation so the student hears the cue as they watch the mark.

Connected platform

Video analysis is one part of a connected coaching platform.

Swing analysis is one part of running a golf teaching business. In CoachCore it sits beside the rest.

Student management

Keep each golfer's swing reviews with their record and lesson notes.

Lessons and booking

Golfers book lessons and packages on your site, and you can apply a review to the lesson it came from.

Training programs

Pro includes programs, so a swing correction can become drills a student works on between lessons.

Progress tracking

Pro includes progress tracking to record how a student is changing over time.

Messaging

Send the finished review to the student from the editor.

FAQ

Golf swing analysis questions

Does CoachCore detect swing positions automatically?

No. You step through the clip and freeze the positions you want to discuss, and you draw every line and angle yourself. The editor does not automatically detect positions or measure the swing.

Can I compare a student's swing with an earlier one?

Yes. Side-by-side mode shows two clips together, and you can trim each so both start at address before stepping through them.

What camera angles work for swing video?

Any clip works. Instructors commonly review face-on and down-the-line views, and a drawn line along the shaft or spine is easier to read when the camera is steady.

Can a student send me a swing between lessons?

Yes. Students send video, you review it in the editor, and you send the annotated feedback back as a link they can open on any device.

Can a golf academy with several instructors use it?

Yes, through the Facility plan, where coaches at the facility use the same editor under the facility's brand.
