The circle is too fast to see
The arm completes its circle and the release in a moment. Stepping through it is the only way to show an athlete where the arm and hips were when it happened.
Softball video analysis software
Softball video analysis software lets a coach review an athlete's pitching or hitting video, step to the moments that matter, mark them up, and send a finished explanation. In CoachCore the coach chooses every frame and draws every mark.
CoachCore does not detect or measure a motion for you. You choose the frames, place the marks, and make the call. The editor makes what you see easier to show.
Why softball is hard to coach from memory
The arm completes its circle and the release in a moment. Stepping through it is the only way to show an athlete where the arm and hips were when it happened.
In hitting, timing is how the load, stride, and swing line up with each other. That is easier to point at on a frozen frame than to describe.
Seeing their own motion next to an earlier version makes a change visible. A recorded explanation lets them revisit it on their own time.

The sample is a swing clip. Step frame by frame, mark a frame, freeze it, and see how the review would reach an athlete.
This is the real CoachCore video editor running on a sample clip. Saving, share links, and student sends are turned off in the sample.
What it should include
Review the windmill delivery from the side or from behind: the push off the rubber, the stride, the arm circle, release, and finish. Freeze the point you want to talk about.
Step through stance, load, stride, hand path, contact, and finish, and draw on the frames to show where the hands, hips, or head are.
Slow a swing or a pitch down and talk through how the parts line up with each other. You describe the timing you see. CoachCore does not time the motion for you.
Put two clips side by side, such as last month's swing and this week's, and trim them to start at the same point.
Record your voice over the clip and send it back as a link. The athlete can replay it before practice.
Share the finished review as a link anyone can open on a phone, so a younger athlete and a parent can watch the same explanation.
A pitching example
A pitcher sends a clip from the side and wants to know why her pitches miss high. You slow the clip down and freeze as the stride foot lands, then draw a line along the hips and the shoulders. You step forward a frame at a time to release and freeze again to show where the hand is.
You record your voice over the sequence as the clip plays. She gets one video she can replay and scrub through before the next practice and bring questions about.
A hitting example
A hitter says she is always late. You freeze at the load and again as the stride lands and mark where the hands are on each frame. Stepping forward to contact shows how much time the swing has left once the front foot is down.
Side by side with an earlier clip, trimmed to start at the load, the athlete can see whether the load and stride are happening earlier than before.
How it works
The steps are the same in every sport. These show how they look on a softball clip.
An athlete sends a pitching or hitting clip, or you load video from a practice or lesson.
Step through the windmill or the swing and freeze the moments that show the timing.
Draw lines on the hips and shoulders or mark the hands. You place each mark.
Record your voice over the slowed clip.
Share a link or message it to the athlete and keep it with her record.
Editor tools
Slow a windmill pitch or a swing enough to talk through each part.
Land on stride foot contact, release, or contact with the ball.
Mark hips, shoulders, or hand position on a frame.
Hold the timing point and focus on the part of the picture you are discussing.
Compare an earlier swing with a recent one, trimmed to the same starting point.
Explain the timing out loud while the clip plays.
Connected platform
Video review is one part of running a softball training business. In CoachCore it sits beside the rest.
Keep each athlete's video reviews with their record and notes.
Athletes and parents book pitching and hitting lessons on your site, and a review can be applied to the lesson it came from.
Pro includes programs, so a mechanical focus can become drills the athlete works on between lessons.
Pro includes progress tracking to record how an athlete develops over a season.
Send the review to the athlete or a parent from the editor.
